Official Jeweler of Miss Gay America: What That Actually Means
Since February 2026, Elea's Closet has been the Official Jeweler of Miss Gay America, and it is a title we get asked about constantly. It is not a sponsorship. Nobody handed us a logo to put on a banner. It means the crown that crowns Miss Gay America is designed and made by our hands, in our Atlanta studio, by the same house that has been handcrafting drag and pageant jewelry since 2009. Here is what the job actually involves, from the national crown down to the lapel pins.
Who makes the Miss Gay America crown?
Us. The reigning Miss Gay America 2026, Tracy La Louisianne, wears a national crown made at Elea's Closet, and every stone in it was set by hand in prong settings, not glued in and hoped for the best. A national crown has two jobs that pull in opposite directions. It has to read from the back row on crowning night, huge and unmistakable, the piece the whole room stands up for. And it has to survive a full year of work after that night: appearances, travel, photographs, prelim after prelim. We design for both, the photograph and the calendar. You can see the crown and the rest of the system's official pieces in the MGA official pageantry catalog.
What does the Official Jeweler of Miss Gay America make besides the national crown?
The crown gets the glory, but the system runs on regalia at every level. State and regional crowns for prelim winners. Scepters. Medallions. Lapel pins. Promoters across the country outfit their winners from the same studio, so a queen crowned at a local prelim and the queen crowned at nationals are wearing work from one house, finished to one standard. That consistency is the point of having an official jeweler at all. If you promote a prelim, our Miss Gay America promoter hub is where the relationship starts.
Repairs and care across a reign
Here is the part of the job nobody photographs. A reigning titleholder's regalia works for a living. It gets packed, shipped, pinned, rushed through airports, and worn under stage lights in rooms that are never as gentle as a jewelry case. Stones take knocks. Settings take stress. Keeping a crown looking like it did on crowning night in month nine of a reign is jeweler's work, and it is ours. Every piece we make carries our lifetime repair warranty, with you covering shipping only, and that promise does not retire when the reign does. Titleholders round out their working wardrobes from our pageant jewelry edit for the same reason: it is built to be worn hard and stood behind, not worn once and replaced.
Want regalia of your own? Custom crowns start at $200
You do not need a national title to commission at this level. Custom crowns start at $200, and the process is the same one we use for the system: you bring the idea, we design it with you, quote it in full, and make it by hand after you approve. Same prong settings. Same studio. Same standard. If you are dreaming up a crown, a scepter, or regalia for your own pageant system, start with our custom jewelry page and tell us what you are building.
Official Jeweler of Miss Gay America is the title on the banner. The job underneath it is plainer: make the crown, keep it shining, and stand behind every stone. That has been the work since 2009. The banner is just newer.
