How Custom Jewelry Works at Elea's Closet
Sometimes the piece you need does not exist yet. The gown is one of a kind, the character is specific, the title deserves regalia made for exactly one person. That is what the custom desk at Elea's Closet is for. We've handcrafted custom drag and pageant jewelry since 2009, we are the Official Jeweler of Miss Gay America, and our work has been worn on RuPaul's Drag Race, All Stars, and Dragula. This guide walks through exactly how a commission moves, step by step, so there are no surprises between your idea and your first wear. The short version lives on our custom jewelry page. This is the full walk through.
Step one: the Custom Jewelry Design Form
Every commission starts with the Custom Jewelry Design Form. The form costs $25, and that $25 is credited in full toward your piece, so starting costs you nothing once you move forward. The form is where you tell us what you are dreaming about: the piece, the occasion, the look it has to live inside. It takes a few minutes, and it puts you in the queue with a real team who will read every word.
Step two: intake within one business day
Within one business day of your form, we come back to collect the details that turn an idea into a design: reference photos, colors, stones, budget, and deadline. Send the gown photos, the screenshots, the napkin sketch, all of it. Be honest about the budget and the deadline here, because both shape the design in ways that make your quote sharper. A firm pageant date and a real number are not limits. They are the brief.
Step three: design and a full quote, before anything is made
Next we design the piece and send you a full quote. This is the step that protects you: the design and the complete price arrive before anything is made, and nothing moves forward until you approve both. Want the drop longer, the silhouette wider, the scale bolder? This is where changes happen, on paper, where they cost nothing. When you say yes, you know exactly what you are getting and exactly what it costs.
Step four: the making
From your approval, standard turnaround runs 3 to 4 weeks. Your piece is handcrafted to order, with stones hand set in prong settings, in your choice of four platings, silver, gold, rose gold, or gun metal, and the stone colors you chose. Like everything we make, it carries our lifetime repair warranty: lost stones and breakage are repaired, and you cover shipping only. If your deadline is a hard date, tell us in the intake and we will be honest about what is possible before you commit.
What custom costs
Starting points, so you can plan before you ever fill in the form: custom jewelry starts at $365, custom crowns at $200, scepters at $250, medallions at $150, and pins at $95. Your full quote depends on the design, the stones, and the scale, and it always arrives before anything is made. Shopping the ready range first is smart too; the full drag and pageant jewelry collection is where many custom clients find the silhouette they want us to take further.
Bring the idea. We will bring the sketch, the quote, and the hands that have done this since 2009. Start with the custom jewelry page, and let us build the piece that does not exist yet.
